Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize analytical methods to measure purity, potency, and other critical quality attributes of small-molecule drug substances and synthetic intermediates.
- Select and implement analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, NMR, MS) to generate data supporting chemical process development, including reaction mechanisms, kinetic behavior, and process-related impurities.
- Collaborate with synthetic chemists and process engineers; enable analytical methods transfer to GMP labs for routine testing/manufacturing support.
- Perform lab work with strong safety and technical rigor; follow local policies/procedures.
- Apply new scientific concepts; demonstrate strong problem-solving and self-motivation across multiple projects.
- Communicate technical and business implications via strong written/verbal skills.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field + 2+ years relevant experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship.

Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Chromatographic (LC/GC/IC) method development/validation in pharmaceutical/regulated environments.
- Mass spectrometry (LC-MS/GC-MS) and NMR experience.
- Knowledge of chemical process development and synthetic organic chemistry; support specifications/testing plans.
- Experience troubleshooting/maintaining analytical instrumentation.
- Scientific leadership; ability to influence others; prioritize and navigate ambiguity.

Additional Information:
- >70% bench work; exposure to chemicals/allergens/loud noises; travel 0โ€“10%; Indianapolis, IN (Lilly Technology Centerโ€“North).
