Clinical Research and Development
What youβll do
- Develop, optimize, and qualify molecular and genomics assays to characterize engineered cell and gene therapy products.
- Apply genomic technologies/workflows including on- and off-target editing assessment, genome integrity/stability, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, ddPCR/RT-ddPCR, and qPCR.
- Develop reference materials; define assay controls, QC metrics, acceptance criteria, and performance measures.
- Execute lab workflows: sample processing, nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and assay troubleshooting.
- Generate and communicate genomic data to Computational Biology/Engineering and cross-functional teams to support Research, CMC, Clinical, and IND-enabling decisions.
- Support method qualification, SOP development, and regulatory-aligned GxP documentation for submissions.
- Maintain accurate, traceable, audit-ready records in Benchling and Veeva.
- Maintain Genomics Lab readiness (inventory control, equipment maintenance, reagent tracking, shipments, CRO coordination).
What weβre looking for
- PhD (2+ yrs relevant industry) in molecular biology/biochemistry/genomics or related; or MS (7+ yrs).
- 4+ yrs hands-on molecular biology: nucleic acid extraction, QC, NGS library prep, Illumina sequencing, ddPCR/RT-ddPCR, qPCR.
- Experience developing/optimizing/troubleshooting/qualifying molecular or genomics assays for engineered cell/gene therapy.
- Experience with assay qualification, SOPs, regulatory-aligned documentation, and tools like Benchling or Veeva.
- Ability to analyze/interpret/document/communicate genomic assay results.
What will separate you from the crowd
- On-/off-target editing, genomic integrity, biodistribution experience.
- Single-cell/spatial transcriptomics, multiomics, or advanced genomics workflows.
- Automation platforms (e.g., Hamilton, KingFisher).
- Ability to translate complex data into decision-ready summaries.
What you should know
- Occasional evening/weekend work; lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
- Base pay range: $130,000β$160,00/year (varies by factors).
