Role: Scientist in Modernaโ€™s CMC-Development focused on lipid nanoparticle (LNP) characterization, supporting analytical method innovation and technology development. Responsibilities: develop and optimize biophysical methodologies (e.g., SAXS, NMR, cryo-EM, DSC, ITC, light scattering) to characterize LNPs, lipid membranes, and RNA-lipid complexes; advance understanding of pharmaceutical quality attributes; collaborate cross-functionally to translate project goals into actionable plans; serve as subject matter expert, document, and communicate findings. Requirements: Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field with 0-2 years (or MS with 8+ years; BS with 10+ years) industry experience; hands-on expertise in structural biophysical techniques; strong communication and organizational skills. Preferred: proven assay development and troubleshooting skills, familiarity with pharmaceutical control strategies, and experience working with mRNA and lipid nanoparticle modalities.
