Position Summary
- Scientist, Discovery Biology (Oncology Thematic Research Center), Cambridge, MA. Advance biologics programs from target validation through lead optimization, drug candidate selection, and IND-enabling biology.
Position Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental studies from early stages through IND filling.
- Perform biology bench studies to advance mechanism of action and develop screening funnel assays for compound triaging and candidate identification.
- Partner with informatics/predictive science, translational research, and lead optimization to support patient stratification, in vitro PD marker identification, and assay development/transfer for miniaturization.
- Use current/new techniques to identify/select antibody-drug-conjugate (ADC) lead candidates; establish ADC mechanism of action and PD/efficacy relationships.
- Design/execute molecular and cellular studies; troubleshoot independently; interpret and discuss data.
- Conduct lab work including tissue culture, qPCR, western blot, multi-parametric flow cytometry, immune cell culture (activation/expansion/exhaustion), proliferation and tumor-killing assays, 2D/3D co-culture activity assays, ELISA, Luminex, and processing DNA/RNA/protein.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years academic/industry experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or Ph.D./Life Sciences degree (no experience required).
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years relevant industry experience; oncology/immuno-oncology biologics (ADC preferred).
- CRISPR/shRNA/siRNA experience.
- Flow cytometry, Incucyte, high-content imaging.
- High-throughput cell-based assay design/optimization for antibody screening and ADC activity.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple projects.
