This is a lab-based role that will support novel ADC technology development. You will participate in research projects involving the design and synthesis of novel ADC payloads and linkers. Your role may also include coordinating or performing biological assays to understand linker, payload and ADC properties.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform multi-step syntheses of novel ADC payloads, linkers, and key intermediates.
  • Work independently to develop, troubleshoot and optimize synthetic routes, including modular routes for rapid analog generation and efficient scalable routes for early-stage drug candidates.
  • Operate a variety of analytical instruments and technologies including HPLC, LC/MS, NMR to enable structural determination and purity assessment.
  • Work effectively in both independent and highly collaborative settings.
  • Analyze and accurately record data using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks.
  • Actively participate in discussions and present results in the form of written reports and oral presentations.
  • Adhere to all company safety, scientific record keeping, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Masterโ€šร„รดs degree with 4+ years industry synthetic organic chemistry experience OR
  • Bachelorโ€šร„รดs degree with 6+ years industry synthetic organic chemistry experience
  • Deep understanding of organic functional groups, reaction mechanisms and reactivity.
  • Experience using chemistry and literature/patent searching software to plan and execute synthetic strategies.
  • Experience as a synthetic organic chemist familiar with a wide range of reaction types and having demonstrated multi-step synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds, especially using NMR and mass spectroscopy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective written/verbal communication.
  • Experience working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, learning new skills and proactively solving problems.
