Role Overview
Initiative-taking scientist to advance pipeline efforts on next-generation in-vivo CAR therapies (in vivo CAR), supporting discovery and development of novel CAR therapy for cancer/autoimmune indications. Work in the Philadelphia R&D team with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize research exploring next-generation cell therapies using in-vivo CAR-T.
- Use published literature to identify novel solutions to in-vivo cell therapy challenges.
- Isolate immune cells from leukopak or blood of healthy donors/patients; evaluate in-vivo CAR virus using in-vitro assays and in-vivo mouse models.
- Perform solid tumor research using cell biology techniques (cell culture, transfection, FACS, cell-based functional assays).
- Package/titer engineered viruses; characterize particles (protein and PCR assays); measure transduction (flow and VCN analysis).
- Generate, manage, evaluate, and maintain critical data (including ELN).
- Deliver results on timeline via internal presentations.
- Maintain compliance with GLP and EHS protocols.

Requirements
- PhD in Immunology or related discipline.
- 2+ years in cell/gene therapy (in-vivo CAR-T preferred).
- Extensive immune-cell analytics/assay development (multi-parameter flow cytometry; immunogenicity assays such as cytotoxicity; cytokine release ELISA/MSD multiplex).
- Lentivirus characterization/quantification (VCN and flow-based assays).
- Solid tumor models and in vivo cell-specific gene delivery (plus).
- Track record via publications/patents; independent project execution.
- Knowledge of immunology/immunotherapy; solid tumor model knowledge preferred.
- Gene delivery proficiency (LVV, VLP, LNP); lentivirus production/titering/transduction.
- Strong multitasking, problem-solving, collaboration; excellent verbal/written communication.

Benefits (as stated)
Medical/dental/vision; 401(k) with company match; 8 weeks paid parental leave after 3 months; paid time off; performance bonus and/or equity (eligible roles).
