Scientific Technical Engineer - PDS&T CMC

Role: Principal Data Engineer within AbbVie's AI-driven CMC and manufacturing data ecosystem, focusing on designing and operationalizing enterprise-grade data pipelines to support AI/ML applications across biologics pipeline stages. Responsibilities: develop scalable data ingestion from manufacturing systems (MES, LIMS, ERP), create harmonized data models, implement data quality and governance standards (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11), and deliver governed data products such as feature stores for AI/ML. Collaborate closely with scientists, process engineers, and data teams to enable regulatory, clinical, and commercial decision-making. Requirements: Bachelor's in a technical field plus 6+ years' experience, proficiency in Python, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and ETL tools; strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data governance in regulated environments. Preferred: experience with biologics manufacturing, GxP compliance, manufacturing source systems (MES, historians, LIMS), AI/ML data infrastructure, and data mesh or ontology frameworks. The role is embedded within AbbVie's PDST team, with a focus on impact on regulatory submissions, product launch, and manufacturing efficiency; location flexible with potential for onsite or hybrid work.
