Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain data processing pipelines for chemical/biological/high-throughput and automation-generated datasets; ensure FAIR compliance and machine-actionability.
- Develop RESTful APIs/microservices for programmatic access to LIMS, ELNs, instruments, and data warehouses (Postgres, Redshift, Snowflake) and analytical databases.
- Support continuous improvement of LIMS and adjacent systems for evolving scientific workflows, security, and scalability.
- Prototype applications/dashboards/workflow tools with bench scientists; validate via iterative feedback.
- Build integrations for lab automation equipment, scheduling systems, and instrument data streams with metadata and execution traceability.
- Develop robotic workflow control, instrument driver interfaces, real-time data capture; create reusable automation components.
- Build cloud-native components and DevSecOps practices (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes/Docker, IaC, CI/CD, orchestration: Prefect/Airflow/Nextflow).
Basic requirements:
- B.S./M.S. in CS, Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related STEM.
- 3+ years (BS) or 1+ years (MS) scientific software development; understanding of experimental data/workflows.
- Python + at least one: Java/C#/Go/TypeScript; SQL appropriate to level.
- Authorized to work in the US full-time; company will not sponsor visas.
Preferred:
- REST APIs/data pipelines/microservices; cloud/container/Git; experience with LIMS/ELN and instrument integration.
- Lab automation + digital platform integration (e.g., OPC-UA, serial/USB).
- Data warehousing (Postgres/Redshift/BigQuery/Snowflake), cheminformatics/bioinformatics tools, scientific computing (SciPy/NumPy), workflow orchestration, and CI/CD.
