Scientific Lead, Translational Sciences (Alexandria Center for Life Science, New York, NY)
Summary
- Translational Sciences informs clinical biomarker strategy, clinical development strategy, regulatory filings, life cycle management, and reverse-translates clinical insights to next-generation drug development.
- Lab-based role for an experienced molecular/cell biologist applying state-of-the-art technologies to develop small and large molecule therapeutics including ADCs and TCEs.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate molecular and mammalian cellular assays for preclinical mechanistic/functional questions.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate compound effects, identify combination partners, and investigate drug resistance.
- Translate preclinical findings into biomarker hypotheses and combination strategies (including patient segments) for clinical advancement.
- Represent Translational Sciences in project meetings; present data and interpret results to drive scientific discussion.
- Prepare internal reports and contribute to regulatory submissions and scientific publications.
- Evaluate emerging technologies/service providers to maintain rigor and efficiency.
- Advance expertise in relevant molecular pathways and therapeutic area (from target ID through clinical trials).
- Mentor junior scientists.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. (Molecular Biology/Cancer Biology/Biochemistry or related) with 2+ years postdoctoral/research/industry experience; OR
- M.S. with 8+ years in biopharmaceutical setting; OR
- B.S. with 10+ years in biopharmaceutical setting.
Technical Competencies (Required/Preferred)
- Molecular/cellular assay development, troubleshooting, and cell model engineering (gene expression modulation; signal transduction interrogation); primary cell/immune co-culture is a plus.
- Proficiency: vector engineering, cloning/mutagenesis, qRT-PCR, ELISA, MSD, Western blotting, NGS, FACS.
- Quantitative/statistical analysis; curve-fitting and software (e.g., GraphPad Prism).
- Preferred: oncogenic signaling, tumor cell metabolism, immuno-oncology; plus epigenetic/inflammatory disease analyses.
