Role: Scientific Lead for spatial biology and long-read genomics within Lilly's Molecular Characterization team, supporting Oncology drug discovery. Responsibilities: develop and optimize spatial transcriptomics workflows (Visium HD, CosMx, Xenium), integrate multi-modal data including spatial proteomics and single-cell, establish tissue processing standards, design image analysis pipelines, automate NGS workflows, develop targeted panels, and evaluate emerging spatial technologies. Lead data analysis using tools like Seurat, Squidpy, and Scanpy; advise project teams on platform applications; mentor junior scientists; collaborate with external partners; and disseminate findings through publications. Qualifications: PhD in molecular biology, genomics, or related, with 3+ years of hands-on research or platform development experience. Preferred skills include expertise in spatial transcriptomics, long-read sequencing (PacBio/Nanopore), automation of NGS workflows, bioinformatics scripting (Python/R), and experience with multimodal spatial platforms. High-value: focus on Oncology tissue types (FFPE, fresh-frozen, bone marrow), cutting-edge spatial and long-read sequencing technologies, and application within a regulated or GLP environment. Work setup: laboratory-based, minimal travel (<5%).
