Main Responsibilities
- Shape scientific strategy and evaluate internal/external capabilities to advance identification, prioritization, and credentialing of therapeutic targets across R&D.
- Provide expert leadership on how advanced digital, computational, and AI approaches can accelerate target discovery, improve target confidence, and increase probability of success.
- Define scientific strategies and practical tactics; assess emerging methods, platforms, partnerships, and innovations (e.g., human genetics, multimodal data integration, causal biology, disease mechanisms, target prioritization/validation, evidence generation).
- Advise senior leaders and corporate management on emerging scientific/technological advances and differentiated AI-enabled target identification/validation approaches.
- Build external visibility as a thought leader through publications, patents, collaborations, invited talks, conferences, and other contributions.
- Act as an independent senior scientific leader without direct line management responsibility, exerting broad influence across a matrixed organization.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics, genetics, machine learning, biomedical data science, pharmacology, or related; minimum 7 yearsβ experience in academia, biotech, technology, or pharma.
- Strong track record in AI, computational tools, and target identification/credentialing.
- Demonstrated success advising senior leaders and translating technical advances into strategic R&D impact.
