Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior individual contributor and scientific thought leader at the intersection of AI, computational science, and drug design; shape scientific strategy and apply scientific judgement to design and optimize small- and large-molecule therapeutics.
- Lead expert guidance on how advanced digital, computational, and AI approaches can accelerate molecular design, improve design quality/decision-making, and increase probability of success.
- Advise senior leaders and corporate management on emerging scientific/technological advances, strategic opportunities, and differentiated approaches in AI-enabled molecular design across biologics and small molecules.
- Define scientific strategies and practical tactics by evaluating generative design, structure-based design, protein/antibody engineering, multi-parameter optimization, predictive property modeling, and design-make-test-learn workflows.
- Maintain internal expert consulting, mentoring, and thought partnership across R&D.
- Establish and maintain national/international thought leadership via publications, patents, collaborations, invited talks, and conference participation.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, computational biology, structural biology, biophysics, machine learning, biomedical data science, or related field; minimum 7 years in academia, biotech, technology, or pharma.
- Strong track record in AI, computational tools, and molecular design for small and/or large molecule therapeutics; experience advising senior leaders and translating technical advances into strategic R&D impact.
Benefits:
- Health and wellbeing benefits, including high-quality healthcare, prevention and wellness programs, and at least 14 weeksβ gender-neutral parental leave.
