Role: Senior scientist in oligonucleotide chemistry within Lilly's Synthetic Molecule Design and Development (SMDD) organization, focusing on CMC development from preclinical to commercialization stages. Responsibilities: lead and innovate oligonucleotide synthetic methods, develop scalable and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, and support regulatory submissions and clinical trials through process development, tech transfer, and impurity control strategies. Collaborate with internal teams and external CMOs, represent Lilly externally in scientific forums, and mentor junior staff. Requirements: PhD with 5+ years or MS with 8+ years in synthesis, oligonucleotides, solid-phase chemistry, or CMC in pharma, with experience in active ingredient development and process validation. Preferred: leadership skills, project management, regulatory experience, and strong publication record. High-value: expertise in oligonucleotide therapeutics, siRNA, conjugates, and innovative synthetic chemistry applied to Lilly's genetic medicines portfolio. Location: Indianapolis, IN; travel up to 10%.
