Scientific Director, Lead Generation Biology

Role: Lead discovery biology platform development supporting Neurocrine's early research pipeline, primarily focusing on assay development across multiple therapeutic areas including neurodegenerative, neuropsychiatric, immunological, and endocrine disorders. Responsibilities: oversee assay development, optimization, validation, and implementation of cellular, biochemical, and biophysical assays (e.g., SAR, SPR), and manage a laboratory team to deliver high-quality, reproducible data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as protein engineering, chemistry, and translational science to align assay strategies with discovery goals. Evaluate and incorporate new technologies and workflows, mentor staff, and establish external collaborations to enhance discovery capabilities. Requirements: PhD or equivalent with 8+ years (PhD), 10+ years (Master's), or 12+ years (Bachelor's) in biological sciences with expertise in neuroscience, pharmacology, molecular/cellular biology, or biochemistry; extensive experience in assay development, biophysical methods, and early drug discovery. Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and assay platforms, with excellent communication and project management skills.
