Purpose:
- Translational scientist in Precision Medicine Neuroscience bridging basic brain/nervous system research and clinical applications to develop biological and disease insights for neurological and psychiatric disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Uncover neurobiological mechanisms of disease to elucidate patient subtypes; mechanisms of action, response, or resistance; and advance novel interventions.
- Develop testable hypotheses related to neurobiological pathways, neuronal circuitry, cognitive/behavioral domains, and/or functional markers of disease or patient subtypes to advance pipeline and disease area goals; collaborate with PMed DAS leads and other functional leads to execute actionable approaches.
- Shape and enhance human neuroscience efforts, promoting research synergies with other R&D areas aligned to disease area strategic goals.
- Drive scientific strategy for translational biomarker development and discovery target validation/MOA projects.
- Lead design of clinically translational experiments with PMED, clinical leads, or translational discovery teams.
- Establish external collaborations to augment internal efforts and expand experimental design options.
- Ensure quality and effectiveness of major precision medicine project plans via sound design and early risk assessment.
- Advance clinical translational efforts through stakeholder alignment and navigation of current/emerging business challenges.
- Communicate expertise and learnings through advising and knowledge-sharing with subordinates, peers, and senior management.
- Source and leverage emerging scientific trends from inside and outside the organization.
