Scientific Associate Director - Project Toxicologist

Role: Scientific Associate Director - Project Toxicologist at Amgen, serving as a key interface between Translational Safety & Risk Sciences (TSRS) and cross-functional project teams from discovery through post-marketing. Objectives: develop and implement nonclinical safety strategies aligned with regulatory standards, supporting diverse modalities including biologics, small molecules, RNA-based therapies, and degraders across inflammation, oncology, rare diseases, and cardiometabolic indications. Responsibilities: lead TSRS sub-teams, drive translational safety strategies, design innovative assessment programs integrating advanced methodologies like AI/NAMs, interpret experimental data, author regulatory submissions, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications: Doctorate (PhD, PharmD, or MD) with 4+ years toxicology experience, or Master’s with 7+ years, or Bachelor’s with 9+ years. Preferred: 8+ years of drug development experience, expertise in nonclinical safety assessment of complex modalities (siRNA, ADCs, degraders), subject matter expertise in areas like drug-induced liver injury, and external visibility as a toxicology expert.
