Role: Sample Management Specialist responsible for lifecycle activities of biological specimens supporting research and organizational initiatives. Responsibilities include specimen receipt, inventory management, storage, tracking, retrieval, request fulfillment, de-identification, distribution, and disposition, ensuring compliance with SOPs, GCP, and regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA). Manage specimen data within LIMS and Sample Management Systems, maintain chain of custody, and support quality assurance through documentation review, audits, and process improvements. Collaborate with Laboratory Operations, research scientists, QA, and clinical teams to coordinate specimen activities and resolve operational issues. Required qualifications: Associate degree or higher in Biological Sciences, 1+ year handling human specimens, experience with inventory management, chain of custody, and data management, proficiency with LIMS, and strong organizational and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with regulatory requirements, experience in biorepository or clinical trial settings, additional technical certifications (GCP, IATA), and customer service background. The role requires on-site work, some evening/weekend shifts, physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs, and completion of GCP, HIPAA, and IATA training.
