Role Summary

Role: Sales Representative, US Farm Animal Package Goods. As a Territory Account Manager, you’ll create demand and secure sales by delivering and demonstrating the value of Elanco Animal Health products to direct customers and influencers. You’ll manage the territory through a yearly action plan, account plans, expense management, and appropriate communications aligned with Elanco's marketing and sales objectives. The sales territory includes beef and dairy customers, veterinarians, nutritionists, feed companies, and distribution contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Territory Management: Plan, analyze and execute territory, account and budget plans to meet performance objectives within the Package Goods Business Unit. Implement and appropriately execute selling cycles, marketing programs and initiatives. Plan and implement territory specific sales promotions, customer meetings and key customer outings and incentives.
  • Product Knowledge and Sales: Demonstrate technical fluency by successfully positioning all Elanco Cattle products and services through key messages, scientific information and product expertise.
  • Building and Maintaining Customer Relationships: Establish and nurture relationships with cattle producers, feed mills, retailers, veterinary clinics and other key influencers within the designated sales territory. This involves regular communication, conducting sales visits, and providing excellent customer service to meet their needs.
  • Collaboration with Account Teams: Work closely with cross-functional Elanco account teams, which may include marketing, technical support, and customer service representatives. Collaborate with these teams to provide comprehensive solutions, share customer insights, coordinate marketing campaigns and product demonstrations, and address customer concerns or issues.
  • Collaboration with Veterinary and Nutrition Professionals: Work with veterinarians and nutritionists to provide comprehensive solutions to Elanco customers, coordinating joint visits and discussing treatment protocols.

Qualifications

  • Required: Experience with beef producers; 3+ years in the animal health or nutrition industry.
  • Required: Strong work ethic; team mentality and collaboration; valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Required: Legal authorization to work in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN) for this employment position.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of the Alabama and Mississippi territory.
  • Preferred: Prior sales experience in the animal health or agricultural industry.
  • Preferred: High initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of cattle production including economics and key drivers.
  • Preferred: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Preferred: Ability to influence without authority.
  • Preferred: Strong learning agility.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred Agriculture or Animal Science major) or High School Diploma / GED with equivalent level of experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Location: Must live within the territory.
  • Territory: Alabama and Mississippi.
  • Travel: 30% (daily travel to see customers and some overnights are required).
