Role Summary

Robotics Solutions Engineer Apprenticeship Program based in Santa Clara, CA. Structured to provide in-depth technical training, hands-on experience, and exposure to real-world challenges in Systems Integration Engineering and Service Solutions. Designed for recent graduates with a strong foundation in engineering, technology, or related fields, and geared toward growth in the medical robotics industry.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering concepts to integrate, operate, root-cause, and maintain the OTTAVA Robotic Surgical System in hospitals and medical facilities as part of the Service Solutions organization.
  • Participate in Robotic System Integration activities including calibration, testing, configuration management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Engage in New Product Introduction processes for robotic technologies, including production and assembly stages, quality control, and compliance for clinical readiness.
  • Learn Field Service Procedures: installation, deployment, upgrades, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.
  • Develop technical support and customer service skills to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship required at application or in the future.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechatronics, Systems, Robotics, or Biomedical Engineering, with graduation date January 2025 to June 2026.
  • Understanding of programming concepts and ability to modify code (C++, Python, etc.).
  • Fundamental understanding of software, controls, robotics, mechanical, and electrical engineering; ability to learn new technical areas quickly.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and related documentation.
  • Experience partitioning and decomposing complex problems; strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with software-controlled mechanical systems and prior robotics projects preferred; Linux experience and experience in regulated industries preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate anywhere in the United States after program completion; travel up to 40% within the US.
