Responsibilities:
- Work on a focused multi-functional team developing robotic solutions for next-generation medical robotic systems.
- Develop novel human-robot interaction methods using feedback from clinical engineers and physicians.
- Collaborate with instrument and capital hardware engineers to implement and test algorithms controlling novel medical devices.
- Design and implement software in a real-time, safety-critical environment.
- Develop test protocols to evaluate algorithms and hardware/software performance.
- Build and test concept proofs and prototypes on systems.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, procedure development, and clinical procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree + 2 years robotics-related experience (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.); MS highly preferred.
- Proficiency with C/C++ and computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, OOP in UNIX).
- Fundamental experience with robotic dynamics and kinematics.
- Highly beneficial: Detection/Estimation, UI/UX, Haptics, Soft Robotics, or Nonlinear Control.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 5% (domestic and international).
