Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Clinical Development and Site Engagement, the Retention Specialist supports overall participant recruitment and retention. The role provides participant support, addresses concerns, and implements engagement strategies to encourage continued participation.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the design and execution of patient recruitment, collaborating with study teams to identify the target population and support outreach strategies.
- Develop and implement study plans for recruitment and retention.
- Build and maintain relationships with sites, CROs, and vendors supporting recruitment and retention.
- Extend connections to advocacy groups and other organizations supporting clinical trial recruitment and retention.
- Conduct market research to understand patient needs and barriers to participation and use findings to plan strategies.
- Create site- and participant-facing documents/materials to support recruitment and/or retention.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science plus 5+ years of relevant experience (Site, SMO, CRO, and/or Sponsor experience).
- Experience with participant/patient interactions in clinical/research settings (desired).
- Deep understanding of the clinical trial process; ability to develop and implement successful recruitment and retention strategies.
- Strong analytical skills using trial metrics, trend analysis, and goal adjustment in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to manage multiple timelines/projects with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Travel Required
- Up to 60% per month to clinical research sites, investigator meetings, and other initiatives.
