Role Summary
Research Technician I in Daytona Beach, FL supporting clinical and laboratory activities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include direct interaction with healthy volunteer participants, reading clinical research protocols, and assisting with room preparation, sample collection, and data collection under study protocols.
Responsibilities
- Interact with healthy volunteer participants and learn to read clinical research protocols.
- Accurately perform measurements such as blood pressure, venipuncture, weights, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature.
- Prepare and record ECGs/Holters and collect/process biological samples per protocol.
- Monitor meals for dietary compliance and assist in room/equipment preparation.
- Assist with screening procedures and maintain a clean, safe study environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements; 0–1 year of related experience.
- Preferred: EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA or CNA certification.
Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based clinical research environment.
- Comfort with electronic data capture and use of computer software.
Additional Requirements
- Work environment includes laboratory and clinical settings with exposure to biological fluids and protective equipment usage.
- Occasional domestic travel to site locations.
- Physical demands include standing for long periods, repetitive hand movements, occasional lifting up to 15–20 lbs, and varied hours.
