Research Technician I

Role: Research Technician responsible for conducting animal studies while ensuring animal welfare and compliance with SOPs, regulations, and GLP standards. Responsibilities: perform daily health monitoring, administer treatments via various routes, collect biological samples, assist with surgical procedures, perform euthanasia and necropsy, maintain accurate records and inventory, and support facility cleanliness. Qualifications: Associate degree in biology or related field, 2 years’ experience as a vet tech or 1 year in research with large animals; proficiency with data entry and Microsoft Office. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, veterinary technician certification, AALAS certification, and experience in surgical or post-op animal care. High-Value: Laboratory animal research, GLP compliance, working with rodents or large animals, regulatory adherence, and potential for on-site travel. Work setup: on-site with physical demands including lifting, standing, and working with PPE; travel to various locations possible.
