Research Scientist, Synthetic Technologies

Role: Research Scientist II in synthetic/medicinal chemistry at Novartis within the Global Discovery Chemistry group, focusing on small molecule discovery. Responsibilities: independently conduct task-oriented synthesis and purification from milligram to multi-gram scales, troubleshoot synthetic routes, explore innovative synthetic methods, collaborate globally with internal and external teams, and perform structural elucidation. Requirements: BS or MS in synthetic organic chemistry with 2-5 years of relevant experience; strong practical skills in organic methodology, multi-step synthesis, and problem-solving; good data management and communication skills. Preferred: enthusiasm for green and sustainable chemistry.
