Your Role: Research Scientist - Computational Biologist
Responsibilities:
- Utilize and develop AI-driven tools (e.g., AlphaFold, Rosetta) to predict and design high-resolution structures of antibodies and other proteins.
- Apply generative AI and structural modeling to design novel antibody and protein modalities from scratch, optimizing epitope targeting, affinity, and specificity.
- Identify and engineer out potential liabilities (e.g., aggregation, immunogenicity) and train structure-based ML architectures to enhance developability.
- Partner with wet-lab scientists to analyze experimental data, validate predictions, and iterate designs to accelerate selection and optimization.
- Evaluate new AI tools, maintain documentation, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications (minimum):
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Structural Biology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 0β3 years post-graduate experience applying computational methods to biological problems.
- Strong foundation in structural bioinformatics and AI/ML modeling; proficiency in Python; effective cross-functional scientific communication.
Preferred:
- De novo protein design tool experience (diffusion models, physics-based approaches).
- Publications or significant contributions applying computational tools to biological problems.
- Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and MLOps.
- Antibody/protein engineering experience and foundational immunology knowledge.
- Proactive mindset; enthusiasm for evaluating new AI methodologies.
Location/Work: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid); Global Elanco Headquarters. Travel: Minimal.
