What You Will Do
Develop a deep understanding of the pathogenic mechanism of cardiometabolic diseases and drive the pre-clinical pipeline forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team to generate robust data supporting preclinical validation of novel therapeutic targets/strategies.
- Independently design, execute, and interpret experiments, including troubleshooting, assay optimization, data collection/interpretation, biostatistical analysis, and presentation.
- Perform laboratory rodent procedures (handling, multi-route dosing, sample collection, necropsy), followed by ex vivo sample processing and analysis.
- Contribute as a key intellectual/technical member on cross-functional drug development teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree
- OR Masterβs degree and 2 years of biopharmaceutical industry and/or academic laboratory experience
- OR Bachelorβs degree and 4 years of biopharmaceutical industry and/or academic laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac/cardiovascular/renal disease biology (high-impact publications).
- Strong organization, accuracy, record keeping, and attention to detail.
- Extensive hands-on rodent experience (in vivo dosing routes: IP, PO, SC, IV; blood collection methods; serum/plasma processing; necropsy; perfusion; IVIS imaging; small rodent survival surgery) with animal welfare focus.
- In vitro assays to study mechanism of action in cultured cells (primary/immortalized/iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, cardiac fibroblasts, immune cells, endothelial cells, other cardiometabolic cell types).
- Experience with 3D engineered cardiac tissue or cardiac/renal organoid models.
- Cell line engineering expertise (CRISPR; stable cell line generation via lentivirus/retrovirus/piggyBac).
Benefits (if applicable as stated):
- Total Rewards Plan including health/welfare plans, retirement/savings contributions, work/life balance, career development, bonus incentives, stock-based long-term incentives, time-off plans, and flexible work models where possible.
