Role: Research Scientist II in biologics discovery within Novartis's Biologics Research Center, focusing on antibody characterization for therapeutic development. Responsibilities include developing and independently analyzing Biacore surface plasmon resonance assays, interpreting data, and generating hypotheses. The role involves gaining proficiency in cellular binding technologies (e.g., Kinexa, LigandTracer), training junior staff, and contributing to research team presentations. Required qualifications: MS or equivalent in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, or related field with less than 2 years' experience, or BS with over 2 years' relevant lab experience; direct experience with Biacore antibody characterization; strong interpersonal skills; alignment with Novartis values. Preferred skills include background in additional binding assays (Fortebio, flow cytometry, LigandTracer) and functional assay development (ELISA), plus mammalian cell culture expertise. The position is onsite in Cambridge, MA, with collaboration across interdisciplinary teams. The role supports biologic drug candidates across diverse disease areas, emphasizing early-stage antibody research and characterization.
