Brief Description
- Design and execute experiments on the efficacy and mechanism of action of anticancer compounds, with a focus on neuro-oncology.
- Document and archive experimental protocols, data, analyses, and conclusions.
- Contribute to research communication via publications, conference presentations, abstracts, and patent applications.
- Full-time, laboratory-based role.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Manage cancer cell culture, including neurospheres.
- Perform in vitro efficacy, mechanism of action, target validation, and biomarker studies using cancer therapeutics (emphasis on CNS tumor models).
- Create stable cell lines with CRISPR and inducible expression of relevant biomarkers.
- Create or adapt reporter systems for molecular targets.
- Present results for internal and external communications.
- Support conference abstracts and manuscripts as needed.
- Develop operational, data documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to perform routine laboratory work; frequent computer use; occasional movement within office; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- 5+ years industry or post-doctoral bench experience dedicated to neuro-oncology.
- Demonstrated neuro-oncology biology and therapeutics expertise.
- Experience with oncology and pharmacology assays/techniques.
- Exceptional written/verbal communication (publications, presentations).
- Highly organized team player; manage multiple projects with minimal oversight.
- Forward-thinking problem solving; computer proficiency; urgency; hands-on approach.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail in a cross-functional (matrix) environment.
Required Education
- Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related field; or Masterβs degree with relevant experience.
