Role Summary

Research Fellow, Immunopathology engaged in generating and interrogating bulk tissue, single-cell, and spatially-targeted human proteomic and transcriptomic datasets to enhance understanding of disease pathogenesis and identify therapeutic and biomarker targets in immunological diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Execute innovative spatial and pathology-guided targeted and discovery single cell/cell-type targeted proteomics studies in human autoimmune/immunological disease tissue biopsies.
  • Collaborate with Pathology and Immunology colleagues on multiplexed histology-based analyses for targeted investigation of protein and RNA analytes in human tissues.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, computational biology, and biostatistics colleagues for implementation of robust analytical pipelines.
  • Work with Pathology and Immunology departmental mentors to achieve career development goals in immunopathology and immunology drug development; participate in external β€šΓ„Γ²omics collaborations via open innovation model.

Qualifications

  • Required: PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, immunology, pathology, or related field with experience in proteomics, immunology, and/or immunopathology
  • Required: Demonstrated productivity, independence, scientific rigor, and experience leveraging proteomic technologies for molecular characterization of human tissue specimens and/or cellular/translational models
  • Required: Expertise in targeted proteomics & mass spectrometry analysis, nanoflow LC-MS/MS method development, low-input sample processing, affinity capture, protein extraction from FFPE tissues, laser capture microdissection, deep visual proteomics, spatial transcriptomics (Xenium, CosMx), multiplexed spatial molecular imaging
  • Required: Significant experience in targeted (PRM/SRM) and discovery (DDA/DIA) assay development, analysis, and data processing
  • Required: Familiarity with Thermo Orbitrap instrumentation
  • Required: Highly effective communication skills, ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, and capacity to work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment
