Role Summary

The Research Coordinator, Swine plays a critical role in managing and overseeing swine research projects at the Phibro Innovation Center. This position coordinates the planning and execution of swine research protocols at the research unit. It involves hands-on work with animals and data management, collaborating with scientists, laboratory technicians, and animal technicians involved in various aspects of scientific research. The role is based at the US โ€“ Mendon, IL site.

Responsibilities

  • Research Trial Planning and Execution: Coordinate all activities related to the preparation and execution of scientific protocols, including resources, facilities, timelines, and budgets.
  • Data Collection and Management: Maintain accurate records of all research activities, oversee data collection tools, train personnel, and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Animal Care and Husbandry: Provide daily care for laboratory animals, administer treatments as directed, monitor health, and record observations.
  • Collaborate with scientists, laboratory technicians, and animal technicians to support research projects.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field (Animal Science, Biology, Veterinary, etc.).
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in farm and animal health management, preferably in a research or commercial setting.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of animal husbandry, animal health, and good clinical practices.
  • Data skills: Proficiency in data collection and reporting using relevant software and tools.

Skills

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office programs with emphasis on Excel.
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis on systems and projects.
  • Ability to conduct research using available resources.
  • Maintains high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Effective teamwork, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field (Animal Science, Biology, Veterinary, etc.).
