Role Summary

The Research Coordinator, Ruminant is an integral part of the Research and Development team based out of the Mendon, IL site. This role coordinates the planning and execution of ruminant research protocols, involves hands-on work with animals and data management, and collaborates with scientists, laboratory technicians, and animal technicians involved in various aspects of scientific research.

Responsibilities

  • Research Trial Planning and Execution: Coordinate all activities related to preparation and execution of scientific protocols, including resources, facilities, timelines, and budgets.
  • Data Collection and Management: Maintain accurate records of all research activities, design data collection tools, train personnel, and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Animal Care and Husbandry: Provide daily care and monitoring of laboratory animals, administer treatments as directed, observe and report abnormalities, and follow GCP guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Biology, Veterinary, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in farm and animal health management, preferably in a research or commercial setting.
  • Knowledge of animal husbandry, animal health, and good clinical practice.
  • Proficiency in data collection and reporting using relevant software/tools.

Skills

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis on systems and projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, integrity and confidentiality, and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Resourcefulness, initiative, and attention to detail.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Animal Science, Biology, Veterinary, etc.).
