Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our Neurology Research group to participate in drug discovery for rare and severe disorders with high unmet medical need. Responsibilities include administration of antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), tissue sample processing, data collection, and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to in vivo studies in wild-type and transgenic rodents to screen drug compounds for efficacy and tolerability (prepare dosing solutions, dose compounds, perform necropsies)
- Generate biochemical analyses in the wet lab using RT-qPCR and western blotting
- Conduct laboratory-based experimental research (RNA extraction, qPCR, small rodent surgeries)
- Prepare data presentations and interpret findings to identify best drug candidates for human clinical trials
- Perform manual and computerized data entry
Requirements
- B.S./M.S. in Biology or related field
- Experience with standard molecular biology techniques (strongly preferred)
- Experience with rodent surgery/handling (preferred)
- Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a laboratory team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
