Research Associate II, Biology

Role: Research Associate II in Biology supporting early-stage drug discovery at PTC Therapeutics, focusing on identifying and optimizing New Chemical Entities (NCEs). Responsibilities: executing experiments in tissue culture, cell biology, and molecular biology, supporting high-throughput screening, conducting mechanism-of-action studies, and communicating results to cross-functional teams; maintaining detailed lab records and supporting patent development. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or related field; 2+ years relevant experience; proficiency in human tissue culture, qPCR, RNA purification, and standard molecular/cell biology techniques; experience with discovery platforms like plate readers and flow cytometers; strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: knowledge of screening workflows and compound handling. High-Value: focus on early-stage research supporting therapeutic areas in rare diseases, utilizing biochemical and cell-based assays; laboratory-based work with minimal travel (~5%). Work setup: office/lab based in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
