Research Associate I / Research Associate II, Manufacturing Process Research

Role: Support development and manufacturing of oligonucleotide drug substances within Ionis's RNA-targeted platform. Main objectives include executing laboratory experiments for process development, preparing and purifying oligonucleotide materials, and reviewing analytical data to contribute to scalable, robust manufacturing processes. Responsibilities encompass conducting solid-phase synthesis, chromatography, filtration, and related operations for modalities such as antisense, siRNA, and conjugates, under guidance. Qualifications: Bachelor’s in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or related fields; 0-2+ years experience for RA I/II roles, with proficiency in laboratory practices, data analysis, and safety protocols. Preferred skills include experience with oligonucleotides, chromatography, LC-MS, and GMP environments. High-value specifics involve working on oligonucleotide synthesis, process chemistry, and pharmaceutical manufacturing at early to late development stages (preclinical to clinical). The role involves cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, analytical, and quality teams at a laboratory level, with occasional schedule flexibility.
