Role Summary
The IN VITRO Research Associate performs research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results. Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain primary and established cell lines.
- Generate immunophenotyping and immune cell functional data using techniques such as multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, and xCELLigence RTCA.
- Isolate protein, DNA, and RNA from cell cultures and tissues; perform gene and protein analysis using qPCR and Western blot.
- Support the generation and purification of recombinant viruses. Perform VPA assay.
- Assist with general cell culture for the production of oncolytic viruses, including herpes simplex virus, vaccinia virus, and/or adenovirus.
- Analyze and organize experimental data with strong attention to detail.
- Assist with laboratory maintenance, inventory, and cleaning tasks.
- Adhere to EH&S guidelines, participate in mandatory safety training, and follow SOPs to ensure study integrity and compliance.
- Support the in vivo team as needed, including animal handling and sample collection.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a biotechnology company with broad knowledge and experience in cell and molecular biology methods; Immuno-Oncology field is preferred.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture is required.
- Experience in a range of in vitro cellular/molecular biology techniques (cell culture, cloning, qPCR, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, microscopy).
- Experience in immune cell based assays (ELISA, MSD, cytotoxicity assays). Strong hands-on experience in acquiring and analyzing flow cytometry data (multi-parameter flow cytometry, intracellular, extracellular staining, FlowJo analysis) is highly desirable.
- Experience with mouse handling, including restraint, injection (IP, IV, SC), and tissue collection is highly desirable.
- Excellent data organization, analysis, and troubleshooting skills using electronic lab notebook.
- Dedication to working in a team-oriented environment to contribute to shared project.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo.
Education
- B.S. or higher in life science, or related field
