Position Summary
The Research Associate I will work as part of the Process and Analytical team to support adoptive cell therapy projects, assisting in developing and transferring robust analytical test methods. Responsible for supporting laboratory operations and data analysis using statistical tools.
Essential Functions
- Assist analytical assays: cell health assays, biochemical assays, Mycoplasma testing, Endotoxin, and ELISAs.
- Conduct immunological assays (plate-based and/or flow cytometry) to characterize NK cells.
- Perform cell culture activities to maintain effector and target cells.
- Assist and perform immunogenicity assays (ELISA, MSD) and T-cell assays (proliferation assays, ELISpot).
- Generate and organize analytical data using Excel and JMP for data trending.
- Support clinical data integrity and regulatory compliance via thorough recordkeeping (data migration, transfer, calculations, conversions, template revisions, etc.).
- Analyze and document experimental data in laboratory notebooks per company guidelines.
- Perform lab support duties (BSC cleaning, incubator sterilization, water bath cleaning).
- Perform ad-hoc/cross-functional projects to support business needs.
Education & Experience
- Bachelorβs degree in biological sciences or biomedical engineering with 1+ year research lab experience (required); or Masterβs degree (required).
- Mammalian cell culture handling in a BSL2 lab (plus).
- Data analysis training (plus).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required/Preferred)
- Aseptic/sterile technique; prior lab experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated team player; organized; strong communication.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Working Environment
- On-site in Torrey Pines, CA; bench work and frequent computer data analysis; occasional lifting/carrying 11β20 lbs.
