Role: Research Animal Caretaker responsible for caring and handling laboratory animals, supporting health surveillance, diagnosis, and treatment in regulated research settings. Responsibilities: perform animal husbandry, monitor health and welfare, maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines, support study procedures such as clinical sampling and data collection, and maintain equipment and facilities. Requirements: Bachelorβs degree in a Life Science (e.g., Biology, Zoology) or Associate degree in Laboratory Animal/Veterinary Technology with 6+ months relevant experience; strong communication skills; ability to work independently or in teams; flexibility for overtime. Preferred: AALAS certification, additional animal care certifications, 6+ months related experience. High-Value: laboratory animal care, toxicity studies, multiple species, strict adherence to animal welfare and regulatory standards, support for research studies. Work setup: on-site in Madison, WI; some weekends required; potential for flexible work hours.
