Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
Responsibilities:
- Manage Specialty Sales Consultants with retail and specialty focus
- Recruit and select Specialty Sales Consultants in retail and specialty pharmacy distribution channels
- Provide team leadership and ensure the team performs with integrity
- Coach, train, and develop Specialty Sales Consultants via virtual and face-to-face interactions
- Provide verbal and written performance/development feedback regularly
- Ensure compliance with applicable corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Understand and comply with legal/regulatory requirements (including Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act; Prescription Drug Marketing Act; Pharma Code; OIG guidelines)
- Promote approved indications using current company materials
- Implement the company’s marketing plan and provide direction to regional staff
- Execute launch and pull-through strategies for new products
- Formulate and direct implementation of the region’s business plan
- Maintain expert knowledge of the region’s managed care access environment
- Partner with Managed Markets to implement and measure push/pull-through initiatives supporting sales objectives
- Establish and manage ongoing procedures/processes for communications needed to meet region objectives
- Oversee proper utilization of corporate resources and assets
- Present a positive, professional image and ensure ethical marketing and compliance
- Maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders
- Achieve sales forecasts and targets
- Perform all activities within budget
- Complete ad-hoc special projects as requested
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; post-graduate degree/coursework preferred
- 3+ years pharmaceutical sales management experience (specialty or hospital sales team preferred)
- 5+ years medical and/or pharmaceutical product sales experience; 2–3 years specialist/hospital sales preferred, preferably sleep and/or CNS/Neuroscience
- Working knowledge of healthcare payment and reimbursement systems (retail, hospital, specialty)
- Experience planning/executing successful product launches with push and pull-through strategies
- Experience leading sales teams in a virtual environment
- Experience leading a diverse sales portfolio team in rare disease and retail settings
- Experience leading managed care pull-through initiatives
- Extensive travel required
