Regional Sales Director (RSD)
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership / Launch Execution
- Lead regional launch planning and execution for successful market entry and sustained product uptake
- Translate national brand strategy into regional business plans and field priorities
- Achieve/exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to adjust strategy
- Drive performance accountability through data-driven decisions and disciplined execution
Team Leadership / Coaching
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain territory managers
- Lead, coach, and motivate ~8β12 territory managers
- Maintain strong disease-state, clinical, and product knowledge
- Evaluate performance and coach through regular field contact
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
- Build succession plans and talent pipelines
Customer / Market Engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts
- Partner on key customer interactions, access challenges, and account strategies
- Support pull-through with IDNs and priority accounts
- Share customer insights with internal stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR for launch readiness
- Provide field input into planning and messaging
- Collaborate with Area Sales Directors and peers to share best practices
- Support national meetings and launch planning
Compliance / Operational Excellence
- Ensure regional activities comply with company policies, regulations, and legal standards
- Manage regional budgets/resources; maintain forecasting, CRM utilization, and reporting discipline
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales; 3+ years people leadership in district/regional manager role
- Proven specialty sales leadership; prior launch experience required (first-launch preferred)
- Strong business planning/analytical/coaching skills; recruit/develop talent
- Preferred: cardiovascular, nephrology, hypertension (or related) experience
Travel
- Up to 60%, frequently outside the local area and overnight

- US Salary Range: $180,000β$215,000
