Role Summary

Regional Sales Director to join the Sales Leadership Team. This role leads a team of Rare Conditions Clinical Specialists and a Rare Conditions Account Manager, fostering a culture of winning through recruitment, coaching, development, collaboration, strategic decision making, and performance management. Partnerships with Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, Patient services, Human Resources & Training will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and inspect clear and rigorous business fundamentals, behaviors and metrics, set high performance standards and meet or exceed sales goals across the business
  • Create immediate impact by hiring, leading, coaching and motivating the high-performance sales team
  • Adapt quickly to launch preparations and support corporate and field-based colleagues in navigating a dynamic market to achieve results in a complex specialty environment
  • Coach ECSs to drive improvements in clinical, product, business acumen and reimbursement skillsets; participate in field rides, customer meetings, target planning, territory alignment and develop employees
  • Contribute to the development of the National Sales plan aligned to organizational goals, using analysis of economic, industry, marketing and sales data
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of territory and regional administrative tasks, including expense reporting, program funding requests and management communications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of direct people leadership experience in rare disease / specialty biopharma preferred
  • Broad commercial breadth (Sales, Marketing, Training, Market Access, etc.) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of rare disease market dynamics, distribution, patient support, care coordination, and innovative reimbursement models
  • Consistent track record of success (Top 20% performance)
  • Ability to develop and execute innovative, comprehensive sales strategies with multiple products
  • Expert at navigating large health systems and pulling through sales via relationships at all levels
  • Collaborative, organizationally savvy leader with history of motivating high performance teams in direct-line and matrix settings
  • Experience with products distributed via specialty pharmacies and supported by patient services/hubs
  • Polished executive presence and strong interpersonal communication (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, balance process with agility, make timely decisions and solve problems
  • Autonomous, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact culture
  • Commitment to continuous learning and accountability to broad business goals
  • Demonstrated compliance ownership and ability to champion compliance by others
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other CRM/field tools
