Opportunity and Summary of Position
- Develop regional business strategy and hire/lead a team of Area Business Managers to achieve/exceed business and sales goals.
- Work with commercial leadership and senior leaders to develop and execute strategies and initiatives.
- Serve as a working leader/player-coach; participate in field activities.
- Use analytics, market research, and local trends to identify opportunities and create business plans for launch.
- Collaborate to develop customer-focused materials and initiatives for diverse healthcare professionals.
Position Responsibilities
- Source, recruit, and hire Area Business Managers; drive compliant sales promotion to targeted HCPs and other healthcare professionals.
- Lead by example: meet with top regional accounts and HCPs/staff.
- Partner cross-functionally with field-facing teams to develop customer-focused initiatives and improve customer engagement.
- Review and analyze performance and market data to develop strategies to meet/exceed sales objectives.
- Coach and develop team members using an established plan.
- Manage performance issues with parity and urgency; create a culture that attracts and retains top talent.
- Demonstrate high clinical acumen and ensure team mastery of clinical knowledge.
- Maintain a patient-centric mindset.
- Monitor utilization of sales/marketing tools to educate HCPs on company products.
- Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals in assigned geography.
- Attend company-sponsored sales/medical meetings and relevant conferences/programs.
- Comply with all legal/regulatory/compliance policies with integrity and professionalism.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 5+ years first-line management experience.
- 10+ years pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical/medical/related sales experience.
- GI/Hepatology experience strongly preferred; prior launch experience required.
- Strong use of performance/market data to create actionable business plans.
- Proven track record leading sales leaders/teams with initiative, accountability, and ethical/compliant actions.
- Ability to learn complex scientific/technical information and communicate effectively to healthcare professionals.
- Strong communication skills (including virtual influence).
- Collaborative working leader mindset; Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Valid driverβs license; travel up to 50β65% (including overnights/weekends) and ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
