Regional Sales Director (RSD)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional launch planning and execution to ensure successful market entry and sustained product uptake
- Translate national brand strategy into actionable regional business plans and field execution priorities
- Lead team to achieve or exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence; adjust strategy in real time
- Drive performance through data-driven decision making and disciplined execution
Team Leadership / Coaching
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain territory managers
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of approximately 8β12 territory managers
- Establish and maintain disease state, clinical, and product knowledge
- Evaluate performance via regular field contact; coach skill and career development
- Foster a high-performance culture (accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement)
- Build succession plans and talent pipelines
Customer / Market Engagement
- Develop relationships with healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts
- Partner on key customer interactions, access challenges, and account strategies
- Support pull-through with IDNs, organized customers, and priority accounts
- Share customer insights with internal stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR to support launch readiness
- Provide field input into brand planning and messaging
- Collaborate with Area Sales Directors/peers to share best practices
- Support national meetings, launch planning, and field communications
Compliance / Operational Excellence
- Ensure regional activities comply with company policies and regulations
- Manage regional budgets and resources; maintain forecasting, CRM use, and reporting discipline
- Uphold values of collaboration, integrity, quality, trust, and urgency
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience
- 3+ years people leadership in district/regional manager role
- Proven success leading specialty sales teams and exceeding goals
- Prior launch experience required; first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred
- Strongly preferred: cardiovascular, nephrology, hypertension, or related specialty markets
- Demonstrated recruiting and talent development success
- Strong business planning, analytical, and coaching skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Willingness to travel extensively within region

Travel
- Up to 60% travel (often outside local area; overnight)

US Salary Range
- $180,000β$215,000
