Regional Sales Director (RSD)

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership / Launch Execution:
- Lead regional launch planning and execution to ensure successful market entry and sustained product uptake
- Translate national brand strategy into actionable regional business plans and field execution priorities
- Lead team to achieve or exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics at launch and beyond
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to adjust strategy in real time
- Drive accountability through data-driven decision making and disciplined execution

Team Leadership / Coaching:
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain territory managers
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of approximately 8–12 territory managers
- Establish and maintain disease state, clinical, and product knowledge
- Evaluate performance and coach for skill and career development through regular field contact
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Customer / Market Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts
- Partner on customer interactions, access challenges, and account strategies
- Support pull-through with IDNs, organized customers, and priority accounts

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR for launch readiness and execution
- Provide field input into brand planning, messaging, and tactical adjustments

Compliance / Operational Excellence:
- Ensure regional activities comply with company policies and industry/legal standards
- Manage regional budgets/resources; maintain accurate forecasting, CRM utilization, and reporting

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience
- 3+ years people leadership in district/regional manager role
- Proven specialty sales success and exceeding performance goals
- Prior launch experience required; first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred
- Strong preference: cardiovascular, nephrology, hypertension, or related markets
- Demonstrated recruiting/developing talent; strong business planning/analytical/coaching skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; willingness to travel extensively within region

Benefits

Travel
- Up to 60% travel; often outside local area and overnight

US Salary Range: $180,000 - $215,000
