Regional Patient Access Manager (RPAM)

Responsibilities
- Provide field access support and education to healthcare professionals (HCPs) to maximize patient access and accelerate time to treatment.
- Communicate with specialty pharmacies, closed-door pharmacies (including Genoa), and patient-physician services (HUB partner) to support marketed products in the U.S.
- Build and uphold the integrity of the pharmacy distribution network through assigned-geography vetting (approvals/denials/removals).
- Support and educate HCPs on coverage issues for on-label prescriptions already in process; access support services, processes, and forms.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on regional and national payer coverage policies and processes.
- Work cross-functionally with field sales, network pharmacies, market access, commercial analytics, and operations; collaborate with payer marketing to build awareness of critical coverage requirements.
- Monitor processes, propose workflow strategies, and share best practices to improve specialty distribution efficiency using end-user feedback.
- Build relationships with pharmacies, physicians, and office staff to resolve coverage problems.
- Train and educate HCPs on payer coverage policies, documentation requirements, appeals, and patient financial assistance programs (e.g., copay assistance and patient assistance).
- Introduce and support technology options for electronic patient access submissions (e.g., CoverMyMeds) and support case resolution (criteria, forms, prior auth, letter of medical necessity, appeals, step edits, formulary exceptions).
- Communicate compliantly with field sales, corporate teams, HCPs, pharmacies, and HUB employees to identify and resolve access issues.
- Identify and communicate payer issues to National Account Directors.
- Interface with local closed-door and LTC pharmacies for support and education.
- Provide regular updates to management on patient access opportunities and challenges.
- Present payer coverage insights in business reviews and sales meetings; conduct patient access workshops and assist with new-hire training as needed.

Requirements
- BS/BA in a related field AND 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, including 2+ years in specialty pharmacy/market access; CNS specialty product experience preferred. (Previous experience in other pharma/biotech functions desired.)
- OR Master’s degree or MBA preferred AND 4+ years of related experience.
- OR PharmD or PhD AND 2+ years of related experience.

Skills/Qualifications
- Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers, and government payers and their impact on access.
- Strong working knowledge of patient support programs (reimbursement support, financial assistance adherence, etc.).
- Strong understanding of prescription adjudication and ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes.
- Familiarity with current marketplace/industry/national healthcare system issues.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 60%; geographically dispersed across the U.S.
- Knowledge of best practices in functional discipline; ability to improve tools/processes.
- Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams; leadership of lower levels/indirect teams.
- Excellent computer skills; excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills; ability to meet multiple deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.

- Annual base salary: $151,000–$206,000.
- Annual bonus with target 30% of earned base salary; eligibility for equity-based long-term incentive program.
