Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison) β Vaccines (AL, MS, AR, LA, TN)
Location & Travel:
- Covers Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Arkansas; must reside in the geographic area.
- Up to 50% travel with some overnight.
Responsibilities:
- Develop rapport and engage with national/regional Scientific Leaders (SLs) to exchange medical/scientific information on vaccine-preventable diseases and Company products.
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain ongoing presence as a medical contact.
- Gather feedback/data to understand SL/patient medical and scientific needs.
- Maintain current knowledge of the scientific/clinical environment in the Companyβs Areas of Interest.
- Address scientific questions and route inquiries outside scope (e.g., grants).
- Support scientific congresses and medical meetings; facilitate scientific/data exchange.
- Upon request (GCSA): initiate SL/investigator discussions aligned to research strategies and milestones; identify enrollment/retention barriers.
- Upon request (GCTO): recommend study sites/investigators, conduct Site Initiation Visits, and identify enrollment/retention barriers; answer investigator questions.
Qualifications:
- MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or DNP.
- Minimum 3 years experience in vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases beyond terminal degree.
Required Skills:
- Doctoral-level scientific discussion; scientific excellence and education focus.
- Stakeholder management, communication, and networking.
- Working knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and relevant pharma ethics/law.
- Ability to organize/prioritize in a changing environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
- Adherence to field/corporate policies, GMSA strategy, SOPs, and GCP.
Preferred:
- Field-based medical affairs experience; relevant therapeutic area experience; scientific/medical publications; research experience.
