Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison) β Vaccines (AL, MS, AR, LA, TN)
Location: Covers Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Must reside in geographic area. Up to 50% travel with some overnight.
Responsibilities
- Build rapport and engage with national/regional Scientific Leaders to exchange medical/scientific information on vaccine-preventable diseases and Company products.
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions; maintain reliable presence to ensure SLs have a medical contact.
- Gather and share feedback/data to understand SL and patient medical/scientific needs and priorities.
- Maintain current knowledge of the dynamic scientific/clinical environment in areas of interest.
- Address scientific questions and route inquiries outside scope (e.g., grants) to appropriate resources.
- Support scientific congresses and medical meetings; facilitate scientific/data exchange.
- Upon request (GCSA): Initiate discussions with SLs/potential investigators to align research strategies and studies; improve understanding of investigator-sponsored research goals; identify barriers to enrollment/retention.
- Upon request (GCTO): Recommend sites/investigators, conduct Site Initiation Visits, and identify barriers to enrollment/retention.
Qualifications
- MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or DNP.
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases beyond terminal degree.
Required skills/experience
- Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions; stakeholder management and strategic communication.
- Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and relevant ethical/pharmaceutical regulations.
- Ability to organize/prioritize in a changing environment; Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- Field-based medical affairs; relevant therapeutic area experience; scientific/medical publications; research experience.
