General Summary:
- Responsible for oversight of an assigned region within the US Kidney Business Unit.
- Manage a team of up to 10 Kidney Territory Account Managers (KTAMs), focusing on educating and building awareness with nephrologists and Kidney centers of care in pre-launch; shift to product education, account management, and demand generation post-approval.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage regional KTAM team (recruiting, hiring, retention) and drive results while living Vertex values.
- Establish business plans, metrics, and goals; motivate team to deliver.
- Leverage data analytics and field insights to provide strategic guidance and keep focus on patients.
- Guide account/territory planning and support pull-through of future approved products.
- Build informed, long-term account relationships; work with interdependencies within centers/accounts.
- Partner with internal cross-functional stakeholders (including Marketing) to shape approaches that drive performance.
- Create a positive, collaborative culture; coach KTAMs to improve patient outcomes.
- Compliantly analyze and address customer needs, market dynamics, and trends.
- Ensure forecast achievement through coaching, support, development, and a winning culture.
- Role model ethics and integrity.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelorโs degree.
- 10+ years in healthcare/biopharma sales, marketing, or equivalent.
- 3+ years supervisory/management experience.
- Strategic account management experience in specialty/rare disease centers of care.
- Nephrology and competitive selling experience (highly desired).
- Specialty care/rare disease launch experience (preferred).
- Teamwork/collaboration; creative problem-solving; escalates issues effectively.
- Understanding of legal/regulatory/compliance environment.
Other Requirements:
- Complete required training, background screens, drug testing, and vaccinations.
- Live and work within territory (near major airport may be required).
- Valid driverโs license (in good standing).
- Travel up to 80%; work after hours as required.
Pay Range:
- $190,000 - $230,000 (incentive bonus and annual equity awards).
