Regional Business Manager (San Francisco/Sacramento territory)

Objectives
- Implement the marketing plan; articulate the brand value proposition; use only on-label/approved materials to meet sales/patient objectives.
- Provide truthful, non-misleading disease/product/formulary information in compliance with laws and company policies.
- Manage the territory using discretion to maximize sales performance with assigned customer population (HCPs and staff in specialty practices, hospitals/clinics, and other appropriate HCPs).
- Analyze local/regional business and managed market trends to build short- and long-term goals.
- Work compliantly in a matrix environment (Patient Services, Specialty Infusion Pharmacies, Managed Markets) including handling confidential patient information.
- Build internal partnerships for compliant selling approaches aligned to company/territory plans.
- Seek clarification from management and/or Compliance & Legal when uncertain.

Accountabilities
- Meet with targeted HCPs and staff to understand needs and discuss how Takeda products meet them.
- Use consultative, highly technical, solution-oriented selling for Short Bowel and/or Ulcerative Colitis patients.
- Focus on greatest positive patient impact.
- Manage territory marketing/promotional speaker program budget per compliance policies.
- Share best practices; participate in Regional/National meetings.
- Use CRM to document account profiles and pre/post call activities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies; develop/apply clinical and business expertise and selling skills.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs; commitment to learning/self-improvement.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Execution of local marketing strategies; business/strategic planning; managed care landscape understanding.
- Specialty injectable sales; specialty infusion pharmacy distribution.
- Experience coordinating with patient services; working knowledge of Gastroenterology.
- Orphan drug/highly specialized medical sales experience.
- Ability to analyze complex technical data and develop actionable business plans.

Training Requirements
- Contingent upon passing mandatory product training (written and oral exams).
- During training (non-exempt): eligible for overtime only per applicable federal/state law; not eligible for sales incentives/production-based bonuses. Training includes live instruction, independent study, role play; up to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
- After passing exams: transitioned to exempt status; no longer eligible for overtime.

Licenses/Travel
- Valid driverโ€™s license; clean driving record.
