Role Summary
The Regional Business Leader, Sleep Disorders, will lead a team of sales representatives to execute business strategies for launching a novel orexin therapy in narcolepsy type 1. This first-line leadership role is responsible for hiring, leading, and developing a team to achieve sales objectives and maximize results, while building the company’s reputation in a developing therapeutic area.
Responsibilities
- Lead compliant execution of regional and area sales strategies to meet or exceed sales expectations.
- Recruit, hire, and coach a team of sales representatives to deliver strong sales performance.
- Translate vision to the team and cultivate a high-performance culture with accountability and development opportunities.
- Foster learning and growth, build capabilities with HR and Commercial Learning & Development, and provide ongoing performance feedback.
- Provide consistent expectations and feedback using measurable outcomes; deliver development plans and address performance gaps.
- Prioritize field coaching to enhance selling skills and territory management; promote compliance with SOPs.
- Implement regional marketing strategies and manage resources, including speaker programs, to meet objectives.
- Develop and execute region and representative sales plans; monitor progress quarterly to achieve objectives.
- Analyze region/territory performance to identify growth opportunities and improve effectiveness.
- Strategically allocate and utilize the regional sales budget to drive growth.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of key KOLs, HCPs, sleep centers, institutions, and IDNs.
- Understand payor landscape and leverage access/reimbursement insights to grow the business.
- Collaborate with field partners to achieve organizational goals.
- Plan and conduct POA/launch meetings aligned with marketing plans.
- Leverage AI and digital tools for region/territory strategy and results.
- Communicate consistently with RBL team, ASD, sales leadership, and internal partners to share insights and direction.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 5+ years of management-level experience in pharmaceutical/immune/biologic biotech or medical device industries with related leadership roles.
- Prior pharmaceutical sales experience with proven success across selling techniques and healthcare industry knowledge.
- Strong business and strategic planning skills; ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
- Proven ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team with timely feedback.
- Ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic, actionable insights.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
- Comfort with emerging technologies and openness to AI-enabled processes.
- Residence in or near the assigned geography.
- Preferred:
- MBA or Master’s Degree.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience.
- Experience selling or leading teams in the rare disease space.
- Sleep Disorders experience.
- Pharmaceutical product launch experience.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License.

Additional Requirements
- Travel 50-75% to support the region, including overnights.
