Responsibilities:
- Recruit, develop, retain, mentor, and lead a diverse team to deliver on strategic sales objectives and establish team accountability through KPIs and performance engagement.
- Model leadership by encouraging shared vision, setting clear expectations, promoting accountability, enabling others to act, and improving processes by challenging the status quo.
- Develop, implement, and cultivate a customer-centric business plan with customer engagement and cross-functional partners to optimize customer experience and product demand.
- Embed a customer-centric, results-oriented culture; encourage team members to speak up, solve problems, collaborate, comply, experiment, and “fail forward.”
- Develop and implement market-based business strategies to achieve sales objectives and maximize product exposure; build business plans using data and account/market analysis.
- Proactively evaluate business opportunities and strategies; recommend solutions to RSD and the district sales team.
- Implement sales and marketing programs to support U.S. growth in the assigned district.
- Hold self and the team accountable for achieving sales and Takeda objectives.
- Ensure full compliance of all selling activities with applicable State and Federal regulations.
- Provide strategic input to Marketing for development and continued evolution of the marketing plan.
- Establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the coverage area and therapeutic areas.
- Develop professional working relationships with internal business partners; serve as liaison with other functions and sales/marketing personnel.
- Work with Regional and National Account Managers to address managed market issues and implement initiatives; collaborate with Manage Markets partners to achieve shared sales and product access objectives.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA)
- Minimum 5 years of management-level experience in pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries (e.g., district, specialty, marketing, and/or product management) or equivalent
- Prior experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative with proven sales success and healthcare industry understanding
- Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills; adaptability to changing market conditions
- Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team with timely feedback
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic and actionable plans
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
- Comfort with emerging technologies; adaptability to digital tools; openness to leveraging AI-enabled processes
- Must reside in or within close proximity to the assigned geography
Preferred:
- MBA or Master’s Degree
- People leadership experience
- Established relationships with medical dermatologists
- Account-based sales experience (e.g., hospital, health system, large group practice)
- Experience in Immunology/Dermatology or Gastroenterology
- Product launch experience
Travel Requirements:
- Travel 50–75% to support the region, including overnights
- Ability to drive or fly to meetings/client sites and attend local and national meetings/training
